Question One

Welcome back!

This question is a two parter. Please be sure to answer both parts.

A. 6hocky6 asks: Do you think Johnny is too proud like his master says?
(please use details from the chapter)

B. Packersfan asks: What do you think will happen to Johnny because of his "sinful"
actions?

  1. My answer to question A would have to be yes. Johnny thinks way too much of himself. For example, he bosses Dove and Dusty around to get things like water and charcoal. Johnny also wakes his master up when he thinks it is time to go to work. Overall Johnny is too arrogant. FROM,

  2. I think very bad things will happen to Johnny due to his "sinful" actions. I believe karma will kick in. What goes around comes around. Johnny is being overly arrogant and not following God's word that everyone should be humble. Since Johnny is definitely not humble, I think God will give Johnny bad things and punish him. Therefore, Johnny will regret ever being arrogant and NOT humble. SEE YA LATER,

  3. I think Johnny is full of himself but not as much as I would've thought. Seeing that Johnny is somewhat related to one of the richest guys there I thought that he woud be way more proud. As for the other question, I don't think bad things will happen to Johnny because he is the favorite at the silvermill.

  4. My answer to the first question is yes and no. I think the answer is no because Johnny is really good at being a silversmith and he works hard at it. For example he stayed up really late to work on the sugar basin for Mr. Hancock. Therefore he should be proud. I also think that the answer is yes because sometimes he thinks he is too good to do some things and just makes other people do it for him. For example he thought at first that he was to valuable to carry charcoal. That I think is being a little too proud.

  5. For the second question I think nothing will happen because of his sinful actions. I think this because Johnny will learn to be more humble before karma comes along. I think if Johnny keeps reading the bible he will learn gods way and to become more humble.

  6. Yes. Johnny is very vain and thinks far too much of himself. He thinks of himself as to valuble because he knows how to read and is a better silversmith than Dove and Dusty. I think Dove or Dusty will try to get revenge on Johnny for bossing them around. Maybe they will tell on Johnny for working on a sabath and then Johnny will be forced to go begging to Merchant Lyte, who will then tell Johnny that his mother stole the cup from him long ago, but he can get Johnny a spot in the army for returning it. Or maybe nothing will happen and Johnny will continue to be our stereotypical perfect, hard-working main character. As for the horrors that await our young Johnny, I think Johnny will get drafted into the war and learn some respect by disobeying an officer and getting 30 lashes. Maybe 50 depending on our officer's rank. On a completly unrelated note, I think Isannah will die from the sickness she is getting. I also think that her sickness will turn into a pandemic and cause all of where ever they are to get very, very sick with it. These are very anti-Johnny and pessemistic thoughts form yours truly,

  7. To question A, I have to say yes. Johnny is too stuck up and vain for his own good. He believes that because his master fovors him, he can be mean to Dove and Dusty and thinks little of them. To question B, I beleive that Johnny will be sent into the war, possibly to get a better perspective on his life. I also believe that either Dove or Dusty will perhaps become ill and maybe die. After that Johnny will feel the regret of being mean to him.

  8. My answer to question A is also yes because Johnny acts like he is better the Dove and Dusty. My answer to question B is I think that Johnny will have something that effects his life greatly and he will understand to be a little more humble.

  9. My answer to question A is yes because Johnny thinks that since his master likes him more than Dove and Dusty because he's responsible. Johnny thinks that he can treat Dove and Dusty like they're useless because Johnny already has his spot as number one apprentice in his masters' eyes. As for question B, I think that something life threatening is going to happen to Dove, Dusty, or Johnny. The incident will make Johnny recognize that he needs to treat people with a little more respect.

  10. Dear everybody,
My answer to question A would have to be Yes, Yes, and Yes. Based on his cocky appearance, and his disrespect towards his other fellow apprentices, I believe he is definately too proud. I believe that because of his "sinful actions" that "what goes around comes around" and that Johnny will make a mistake/accident as an apprentice.

    Yours Truly,
    Tostitos Maniac

P.S. I believe one of Johnnys other apprentices will be the ones to cause his mistake/accident.

  11. I think that Johnny deserves to be proud. Dove may be older, but Johnny is more talented and he should be able to take full advantage of his gift. If Johnny is choosing to take charge and make sure that Dove's work is precice then Dove does not have to make it hard for him and cause fights. At least dusty knows that Johnny is/should be the boss. Like when Johnny tells Dusty to look sharp, Dusty does because he know Johnny is a better craftsmen. I don't think that anything will happen physically to Johnny, but i think that maybe something will happen to Dusty or Dove and Johnny will regret ever pushing them around. I'm even thinking that something might happen to Cilla, since he seems to favor her more. Then he will lose focus on his because of his sorrow job and never become we he could have been.

  12. Well, I think that based on Dove's actions he did mean to harm Johnny in a way or at least make him mess up. I think this because he purposefully reached all the way to the back to get the broken one and then him and Dusty were laughing about it. I think that Dove was just fed up with the way Johnny was treating them ON THEIR DAY OFF. Either that or he wanted to teach Johnny a lesson for working on the Sabbath day. I also think it's mainly Johnny's fault for hurting his hand because he didn't clean up the mess he made which caused him to mess up.

  14. Yes I think that Doves actions were ment to harm Johnny. He and Dusty were the ones that spilled the silver to make him slide and burn his hand. Johnny always is bossing them around so they might have been fed up with his bossing and did something to get back at him.
